One Day You Will Miss Me explores the transformation of Belgrade through the urban development project Belgrade Waterfront. Developed as a new luxury district by a foreign private investor, the project has reshaped the post-socialist Serbian capital since 2015.

Between 2017 and 2022, Julia Gaisbacher documented the city’s changing landscape through photography, video, and large-scale vinyl prints, focusing on construction sites, advertising imagery, and fragmented urban spaces.

Situated between documentary observation and subjective perception, the project reflects on the tensions between memory, disappearance, and the production of new urban imaginaries. The resulting work forms an archive of a vanishing cityscape and examines broader processes of political, economic, and spatial transformation.
